The School of Information Technology, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Thailand, is accepting applications for admission into the Bachelor of Science Program (B.Sc.) in Business Information Technology (international curriculum), academic year 2023. The second round of selection is based on applicants’ Direct Admission2. The details of the admission process are as follows:

1. Program and number of available seats

The program is a Bachelor of Science Program in Business Information Technology (international curriculum).

  • Five seats are available.

2. Applicant qualifications

2.1  The applicant is currently a 12th-grade high school student or has already graduated from high school or is an overseas resident with a high-school diploma or an equivalent.

Note: For applicants holding a GED certificate, their equivalent GED score to the passing score of a high school diploma must be in the range as shown below.

2.2  The applicant must achieve an acceptable score in any of the following mathematical tests:

2.2.1    Approved mathematical tests:

  • General SAT I,
  • SAT (Math section) or SAT Subject test (Math I or Math II),
  • ACT (Math section),
  • AP test for a mathematical subject,
  • A-Level or AS-Level for a mathematical subject,
  • O-Level or GCSE or IGCSE for a mathematical subject,
  • IB-Diploma for a mathematical subject,
  • NCEA (level 2 or Level 3) for a mathematical subject,
  • Gaokao Mathematics score,
  • PAT 1 (Professional and Academic Aptitude Test 1)
  • A-Level: Mathematics Paper 1 or Paper 2
  • Others (please specify).  Or

2.2.2    The applicant has achieved a minimum average percentage of 70% or a minimum grade point average of 3.00 in mathematics courses taken at his/her high school.

2.3      The applicant must achieve a good score in any of the following English tests.

2.3.1    Approved English tests:

  • TOEFL (iBT–Internet-based Test)
  • TOEFL (Official Paper-based Test)
  • IELTS
  • Cambridge English Exams – FCE or CAE or CPE
  • Gaokao English Language score
  • CU-TEP
  • TU-GET
  • GAT (General Aptitude Test) Part 2
  • TGAT 1 (English Communication)
  • A-Level: English
  • Others (please specify) Or

2.3.2    The applicant has attended an international high school, or an equivalent, that employs English as the instruction medium for at least 2 years and graduated from that school.

2.4  The submitted test score must not be over 2 years old on the submission date.

2.5  The applicant must not have a harmful and contagious disease, socially unacceptable disease, or a disease that may hinder their education.

2.6  The applicant must behave appropriately and pledge to the Institute that they will strive to study and act according to the Institute’s existing and new regulations with their best effort.

2.7  The applicant must have not been expelled by any prior educational institute because of inappropriate behavior or violation of regulations.

2.8  The applicant must have not cheated, as an individual or a member of a group, in any admission examination.

2.9  The applicant must not be a former student who has lost his or her student status while owing some debt to the Institute.

4. Application method

Online application is via https://new.reg.kmitl.ac.th/admission/ . The application fee is 500 Baht and can be paid to a KMITL account at Kasikorn Bank. The invoice for this fee can be printed from the application process system, and the fee can be paid via two channels below:

4.1 Via mobile Banking app by scanning the barcode (no fee for making the payment); Or 

4.2  Paying at a bank teller counter of any Kasikorn Bank in Thailand with a 10 Baht fee for making the payment. Paying at a counter of any other bank may incur an additional payment fee. (Application fees are not refundable and KMITL will not be responsible for any loss from making payment by methods other than those stated above)

5. Supporting documents 

5.1 An application form printed out from https://new.reg.kmitl.ac.th/admission/ .

5.2  A photocopy of the applicant’s transcript showing his or her GPA.

5.3  A photocopy of the applicant’s high school certificate or a document verifying the equivalence of his or her certificate to a high school certificate, from the educational institute the he or she is attending or has attended.

5.4  A signed photocopy of the applicant’s citizen ID card of passport showing the day, date, month and year of birth as well as the expiration date.

5.5 A supporting document from the applicant’s educational institute (if available).

5.6 A photocopy of the applicant’s score in mathematics.

5.7 A photocopy of the applicant’s score in English.

5.8 An A4-size portfolio in English (not bigger than 10 pages, excluding the cover).

For overseas applicants, portfolios can also be sent via email to atcharaphorn@it.kmitl.ac.th.

  • Applicants are responsible for checking and confirming their admission qualifications and filling out valid information. In the case of any mistakes made by the applicant or in the case that the student’s submitted official documents do not match those in the application announcement from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, it will be held that they lack the required qualifications in the first place.
  • The School of Information Technology, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang reserves the right to decide and select applicants to be admitted into the institute.

6. Selection method

7. Confirming clearinghouse rights         

A passed applicant must confirm his or her clearinghouse right on 4-5 May 2023 through the system of The Council of University Presidents of Thailand to show his or her intention to be a KMITL student. If the passed applicant has not done so by those dates, his or her admission right will be canceled

8. Applicant’s reporting to the Institute and paying the admission fee to confirm their admission right:

          An applicant who has passed the selection process with the clearinghouse right and who also has been announced to have an admission right into KMITL must report himself or herself to the Institute via www.reg.kmitl.ac.th, and pay the admission fee (which includes the tuition fee for the first semester) by following the instructions in the notification from the Institute regarding payment to confirm the admission right into the Institute dated 2 March 2012. If an applicant has not made this payment to confirm his or her admission right by the specified time, it will be taken that his or her admission right is canceled.  

          In the case that an applicant has already reported himself or herself to the Institute via the Internet and paid the admission fee but, later on, wishes to cancel his or her admission right, the Institute will not refund the fee for any reason whatsoever.

          After an applicant has confirmed his or her intention to be admitted into the Institute and has already paid the admission fee, he or she will not have to pay any lump-sum tuition fee for the first semester. The admission fee payment covers the lump-sum tuition fee payment for the semester.

9. Cancellation of admission right

9.1 Applicants who have passed the selection process but have not confirmed their clearinghouse rights by the specified time will be taken as canceling his or her admission right.

9.2 The admission right will be canceled for applicants who have passed KMITL’s selection process but have not reported themselves to the Institute via the Internet, and have not paid the admission fee to confirm their right by the specified date.

9.3 The admission right will be canceled for applicants who have passed KMITL’s selection process but have not successfully graduated from his or her attended educational institute in the educational year that he or she has specified.

10. Tuition fee

An admitted applicant must pay a lump-sum tuition fee of 70,000 Baht per semester. The Institute will not refund this fee for any reason whatsoever.
