Full Tuition Waivers

This scholarship is allocated to a student who studies Master course under Research Plans (Plan 1) and Doctoral course (Plan 1). A student who is selected will obtain Full Tuition Waivers during the regular study period. Also, a scholar has no any obligation or bond with the Faculty after graduation. 

1. Types and Numbers of Scholarships

  • Scholarships for students selected to join the doctoral of philosophy program in the general recipient category, or selected to join the joint degree program: master to Ph.D. and bachelor to Ph.D.
    • Doctor of Philosophy Program in Information Technology (International Program)
      • Regular student (type 1 and 2):
        • 5 scholarships
    • Doctor of Philosophy Program in Artificial Intelligence for Business Analytics (International Program)
      • Regular student:
        • 4 scholarships 
  • Scholarships for students selected to join the master’s degree program in the general recipient category for research-focused study plan. 
    • Master of Science Program in Information Technology
      • Type A1:
        • 5 scholarships
    • Master of Science Program in Artificial Intelligence for Business Analytics
      • Type A1:
        • 3 scholarships 
  • Scholarships for students selected to join the ‘budding innovator’ program.

    • Master of Science Program in Information Technology
      • Type A1:
        • 5 scholarships
    • Master of Science Program in Artificial Intelligence for Business Analytics
      • Type A1:
        • 3 scholarships 

2. Amount of scholarship

Scholarship recipients will be exempted from paying flat registration fees for a period as follows:

  • Not more than 2 years for a master’s degree program,
    **(Note: Recipient of the scholarship from Kasikorn Business Technology Group will receive a monthly allowance of 15,000 THB for a maximum period of two years.)
  • Not more than 3 years for a joint master to Ph.D. program,
  • Not more than 4 years for a joint bachelor to Ph.D. program.

3. Requirements of the scholarship applicant

  • The applicant has applied to be admitted to a graduate program or is a student in a research-focused program.
  • The applicant must achieve a proper grade or have a research work related to the program for which he or she has applied as follows:
    • For a master’s degree scholarship, the applicant must achieve at least a 2.75 GPA from bachelor’s degree study or must have at least one research work published in TCI (group 1), SCOPUS, or ISI (Web of Science) database;
    • For a doctoral of philosophy degree scholarship (for an applicant who has applied with a master’s degree), the applicant must achieve at least a 3.25 GPA from bachelor’s degree study or a 3.50 GPA from master’s degree study or must have at least one research work published in SCOPUS or ISI (Web of Science) database;
    • For a doctoral of philosophy degree scholarship (for an applicant who has applied with a bachelor’s degree) and for a ‘budding innovator’ bachelor program scholarship, the applicant must achieve a proper grade according to the requirements in the rules and regulations of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology regarding graduate study and the ‘budding innovator’ bachelor program.

5. Application for scholarship

  • The applicant submits an application form for a scholarship at the Educational
    Service Section, School of Information Technology or submits via e-mail to
    Witchayada@it.kmitl.ac.th. All required documents must be attached.
  • The applicant must apply for admission into the program for which the scholarship is.
  • The applicant who has been granted another scholarship or research fund, from
    another organization that overlaps with the applied scholarship, must state his or her
    intention to relinquish the scholarship if he or she is awarded it.

6. Credentials

  • Scholarship application form with a 1-inch photo of the applicant
  • Transcript
  • Research works (if available).

7.  Selection of awardees

  • For application for every type of scholarship, selection is according to the interview examination score.

  • In an interview examination, the applicant uses no more than 15 minutes to present his or her research work or thesis outline that is a part of graduate study. Interview examination score will be given by considering various elements, including his or her presentation, answers to questions, and educational history.

  • The selection decision of the committee is taken to be the final decision.

8. Conditions for scholarship

In every semester, awardees must submit a progress report on their educational achievement and thesis development to the School of Information Technology. Their educational achievement includes the following.

  • Scholarship awardees for master’s degree program (type A1) and for ‘budding innovator’ bachelor degree program must accomplish the following:
    • Within the 3rd semester of the regular study plan, at least one of their research papers, which is a part of the program, must be published in a journal or a conference publication listed in SCOPUS or ISI international database and listed as an acceptable journal or conference by the faculty’s Academic Committee,
  • Ph.D. scholarship awardees
    • awardees must pass the Qualifying Examination within the 3rd semester of the regular study plan, and
    • One of their research papers must be accepted for publication within the 3rd semester of the regular study plan. The publishing journal or conference must be listed in SCOPUS or ISI international database and listed as an acceptable journal or conference by the faculty’s Academic Committee, and
    • Another paper is accepted for publication within the 5th semester of the regular study plan. The publishing journal or conference must be listed in SCOPUS or ISI international database and listed as an acceptable journal or conference by the faculty’s Academic Committee.
  • During the effective scholarship period, awardees must perform teaching assistant duty, helping to teach courses assigned by the faculty, as well as some other duties.

  • As an awardee of a scholarship, he or she must comply with the rules and regulations stated in the institute’s announcements regarding student status and behavior. He or she must refrain from misconduct and violation of law. He or she must not be an awardee of another organization’s scholarship or research fund that overlaps with this scholarship.
