The School of Information Technology, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, congratulates the students from the School of Information Technology, Lat Krabang, who teamed up as ThunderPermanent to win the championship at the “BDI Young Innovator Hackathon 2026” competition, also receiving the Royal Trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, from the project “Pribta,” a platform for identifying substances from NMR data using an automatic AI system
The BDI Young Innovator Hackathon 2026 was organized by the Big Data Institute (Public Organization) or BDI in collaboration with the College of Computing, Khon Kaen University, and network partners. The final round was held on July 6, 2026, at the Science Park, Khon Kaen University, under the concept “Intelligent Living,” to provide opportunities for students nationwide to apply knowledge in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop innovations addressing health, urban, and quality of life issues for people meaningfully
This competition attracted interest from youth across the country, with 1,803 applicants from 361 educational institutions, and 16 teams advanced to the final round. Competitors developed skills in Data Science, Big Data, Machine Learning, and Deep Tech, alongside guidance from experts and mentors throughout the competition
The ThunderPermanent team won the championship with their project “Pribta,” a platform for identifying substances from NMR data using an automatic AI system. This integrates knowledge of physics, quantum chemistry, and Neural Network models to enhance the processing and analysis of NMR signal data, representing an integration of science and technology knowledge to develop tools that effectively support data analysis and research work
The ThunderPermanent team consists of 5 members:
1. Mr. Ekkhat Sathapol, 3rd-year undergraduate student in Artificial Intelligence Technology (AIT), School of Information Technology, KMITL.
2. Mr. Jirapat Wichaidit, 2nd-year undergraduate student in Information Technology (IT), School of Information Technology, KMITL.
3. Ms. Paradee Pimlaekakorn, 3rd-year undergraduate student in Data Science and Business Analytics (DSBA), School of Information Technology, KMITL.
4. Mr. Phanupong Tanpichai, 3rd-year undergraduate student in Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University, Sriracha Campus.
5. Ms. Nittayakan Muangphan, Grade 12 student, Uttaradit Darunee School.
This success of the ThunderPermanent team reflects the potential of students from the School of Information Technology, KMITL, in applying knowledge of artificial intelligence technology, data science, and data processing combined with other disciplines to create innovations that meet real-world needs and demonstrates the power of collaboration among students from different fields and institutions
