Ladkrabang IT Students Win First Prize at Huawei ICT Competition 2025-2026 Global Finals
Undergraduate students from the School of Information Technology, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) have earned international prestige by securingthe First Prize in the Computing Track category at the Huawei ICT Competition 2025-2026 Global Final,held from June 2-5, 2026 at Huawei Technologies headquarters, Shenzhen, People's Republic of China. This year’s competition is the largest in history, with over 220,000 students and instructors participating from more than 2,000 institutions across 100 countries and regions worldwide.
The student team from the School of Information Technology, KMITL, named “SIGKILL,” demonstrated their capability by progressing through three levels of selection: winning first place nationally, advancing as the first runner-up at the Asia-Pacific regional level, and ultimately clinching the First Prize amidst 177 teams from 49 countries and regions around the globe. Team members include

This success was achieved under the close mentorship and guidance of faculty members from the School of Information Technology, including Associate Professor Dr. Chotiphat Pornvalai, Assistant Professor Dr. Sumet Prapawat, and Assistant Professor Dr. Laphat Praditthasanee. It affirms the strong capabilities of Thai IT students, especially skills in Linux operating systems, database management, and processing architecture, demonstrated through an 8-hour practical lab examination, positioning them competitively at the forefront internationally.
